Are you a good dancer?
On July 31, 2008 in Thoughts in the evening...
And a big hello on this lovely summer evening to you. Things are pretty hectic here tonight in NYC and I could see all the hustle and bustle of cars, people walking to and fro and buses zooming people all over the place. I was parking my car and someone asked me for a boost to which I happily obliged and remembered my many a frustrating moments with dead batteries and the like. Not fun.
I would love to say that I am in the best of moods but I am full of anxiety and not at ease at all. Go figure. The day started out well enough but I got hit with this overflow of things I didn’t get done and time was ticking and so on and so forth. So you know what I’m doing?….stopping, realizing that the world isn’t going to stop if my to-do list takes a breather and got some food going. I am going to sit down, eat and watch an episode of Flight of the Concords. I would say that’s the perfect medicine for an anxious heart, right? I could hear you saying Amen!
So I thought I would ask something fun and silly tonight….Are you a good dancer?
I myself, enjoy dancing and like to think that I’m a ‘good’ dancer. I won’t be winning any competitions anytime soon, but I won’t embarrass you if you’re my partner, promise!
have a peaceful night
much swingin’ love

I really hope that’s sweat!…
On July 31, 2008 in Daily Musing
OMG!!! See, that is why I’m not looking forward to being a dad. lol! I was cracking up when I saw this one.
Buen dia a todos. It is a beautiful sunny day here in NYC. I got plenty o’sleep which is nice for a change and I am wide awake, feeling good and ready to go. Thank you to those that pointed out the question for the poll was from the night before! I just smiled when I saw that. The weird thing is that if I switch the question in the middle, for some reason it resets the whole poll so I opted to just keep it and let the poll run. Thanks for letting me know though.
Hope everything is well in your neck of the woods and that you have a superb day.
much love my sweet friends

Whom do you go to for advice?
On July 30, 2008 in Thoughts in the evening...
The sun has just hidden behind the buildings across the street and the evening is on it’s way. It has been a busy yet good day here in NYC. I heard a lot of complaints about the heat and humidity today but for some reason I didn’t feel the same. I was in the car for a large portion of the day and with the windows rolled down and the breeze coming in I got to escape the heat and humidity that enveloped the day.
Right now I sit at my desk in front of the windows overlooking the crowded street watching cars go by and people getting their last purchases in at the delicious Italian deli across the street before they go home to prepare for dinner. I love moments like this where you actually get a chance to just watch life happen. No hidden agenda, no expectations, nothing except to observe. I like this, a good way to end the day for sure.
So my question tonight is a curiosity that I often have. In a day and age where gobs of information is available at any moment form multiple sources, who do you go to for advice? This question always interested me because it is one of trust and confidence in the wisdom of others and I like to see who people turn to when the answer is not so obvious on Google. lol! Just one rule however, this is a strictly this side of Heaven question. I myself am a man of faith and pray often, but we are excluding advice and guidance of that type. What we are looking for is who can you call physically to when you need advice?
have a special evening everyone and make the night exceptional somehow(but you don’t have to take my advice if you don’t want to. lol!)
much, if you want, love

p.s. I have started editing some of the submissions for the ‘Always on My Mind’ video and it is looking awesome. If you’re going to send in your clip, be sure to click here and check which lines have already been done so you don’t do the same lines. Once again, I have the best fan/friends in the world for doing this, it is totally going to kick ass!!

Even Scooby and Shaggy were distracted…
On July 30, 2008 in Daily Musing
This pic was too funny. My only question is if it was completely random or did they set it up by pausing the video? Either way, very clever.
Goooooooooooooooooooooood morning wonderful friends. I am as cool as can be with the fan providing a nice quiet breeze, my feet propped up on my coffee table and my laptop literally on my lap as I write this. I am happy to report that after the posting on Chinese food last night, I caved and went to get some! It was awesome of course and I pigged out like the best of ‘em, you would have been proud
One strange thing that happened last night is that I was getting completely frustrated working on a website of mine. I am trying to learn some design tricks to begin implementing and every thing was going great until last night where I hit a brick wall. I couldn’t figure it out for the life of me and I kept getting the same error. aarrrggg was my venting noise of choice for most of the evening. I chose to sleep on it and like a flash in the night, I woke up and knew what was wrong. I just tried it and voila!, problem solved. Something to add to this sweet morning.
Anyhoo, enough about my morning and let me just wish you the most splendid of mornings to you.
In case you didn’t know, today is Wednesday July 30th, 2008 and unless you have conquered time travel, it will be the only one of this date that you will experience so let’s make it a good one. lol!
much present love

What do you order when you eat Chinese food?
On July 29, 2008 in Thoughts in the evening...
I was feeling a bit sluggish before so I ordered an espresso next door at the Italian deli and I am pepped up and ready to go! It’s been a busy day and I am looking forward to just sitting down and vegging out for a bit. I don’t do that very often and knowing me, it won’t last very long, but gosh darnit, I am going to give it my all. lol!
July has been quite the month of lessons and looking back I really feel like I learned a lot. You know those times in your life when you feel like you’ve become someone different, in a good way of course, but your mind is thinking new thoughts and you are feeling new feelings? It feels good and you don’t quite know what’s in store but you’re excited to see things in a new perspective and see what you’ve learned in action. That’s what I’m looking forward to in August and I am happy to be sharing this with all of you.
So on this Tuesday evening I ask you something simple but that could come up should we ever be enjoying victuals together….What do you order when you eat Chinese?
Now, if you don’t eat Chinese food anymore or all that much, just think back to times that you did and what your typical dish was. Mine has to be Spare Rib Tips with Fried Rice. And although I don’t go down the Chinese food route all that often anymore, on occasion I will pig out, order that and watch a movie. Aahh, the perfect way to veg out. Maybe tonight? We’ll see
Well my amazing friends, I hope the night is proving to be exciting and unique and most of all that you feel good wherever you find yourself

This is worse than Henry Ford driving a Dodge…
On July 29, 2008 in Daily Musing
All I can say is I hope this is a photoshop job. lol! Either way, it’s funny as heck
Good afternoon beautiful friends. I hope your day is going grand so far. I was up early and the day got busy very quick, hence the late post. I really enjoyed reading everyone’s response to last night’s question about sleeping in the buff. I had no idea so many of you slept so freely, I love it!
So I’ve started getting clips for the ‘Always on My Mind’ video challenge and they look great! I am so excited and can’t wait to start piecing them together. In case you have no idea what I’m talking about, I am producing a video for ‘Always on My Mind’ with clips of all of you singing along. I know, it sounds a bit loco, but it’s going to be awesome and I got the idea from a Nickelback ‘Rockstar’ video and I absolutely loved the idea. I figured we don’t need millions of dollars of record label money, we can make a kick-ass video on our own! If you want to be in it, and I know you do, click here to see what you have to do.
Well, enjoy this Tuesday fully and I will see you all tonight with another ‘let’s get to know each other a bit more’ question.
much love

Do you sleep naked?
On July 28, 2008 in Thoughts in the evening...
What a wondrous night! It has been a spectacular day and the night has proven to follow suit. I have some Antonio Carlos Jobim playing in the background as the soundtrack to this night and I sit by the window of my newly set-up office. I have been meaning to set up a good workspace and I kept putting it off but after the decision making question yesterday I realized that I couldn’t wait any longer and so I set up a beautiful glass table that I had from an apartment years ago and I went to Staples to get some office supplied and presto, office is ready to go.
There is a lot of bustle here in the city tonight and you can tell that people were aching to go out for walks, sit on porches and grab an ice-cream to enjoy the summer night. I don’t blame them. What about you, what are you up to? I hope the night finds you particularly well. It’s been a good day because I haven’t been inspired in the sense of wanting to do a million things and conquering the world, but more so in a slow down and do things deliberately kind of way, ya know? As Thoreau wrote, “I went to the woods to live deliberately.” That’s how I’m feeling tonight. No specific rush, no specific task, but a desire to be aware of where I am and what I’m doing. Like, for instance, the delight right now in knowing that you are reading these words, that makes me happy and I can declare this a good moment.
So with all those peaceful thoughts in mind, I thought it would be kind of fun to ask a silly question: Do you sleep naked?
I myself vary from time to time. Some night’s it will be completely in the buff but most night’s it will be with boxer briefs. Yes, I am a boxer brief guy. In case you didn’t need to know that much information, I’m sorry, but we’ve shared so many other personal info over the past year and a half that I thought it was time we all find out about our sleeping habits. lol!
here’s to comfy sleeping

Book of Questions #74…
On July 28, 2008 in Book of Questions
You know what? I am absolutely fine with the fact that it is Monday today. Yes, it’s the beginning of the work week, yes, the weekend is as far away as can be but say in the simplest of terms possible, ‘I am alive today!’ and that is reason enough to be okay. The older I get the more I realize that hoping that every single thing in my life being aligned juuuuusst right is not only fiction but also not what life is really about. Life is spent trying to find balance between all these different things and that is exactly what life ‘is.’ I spend so much energy(I speak in the “I” to not incriminate anyone else!) trying to reach that “perfect” day where it all works perfect and I’m not so sure that is the ultimate goal anyhow. Life is your challenges, life is my work, life is my disappointments, life is laughing with my sister, my friends, my dad who is sick and enjoying each moment with him, life is trying to realize your dreams even when they seem impossible, life is trusting people even though the world tells you not to, life is deciding to enjoy the hand you got in life instead of wishing it was 4 aces, life is sharing your life story so that others may learn from it and apply some of that wisdom to their life, life is enjoying the line for the roller coaster and not just the ride.
With all it’s ups and downs, I can confidently say that I love to be alive, I love to have fun, see the world with a little bit of the wonder that children see it with and enjoy it with those that think the same. You will always, and I do mean always find those that think life is hard, trying and painful and there’s no arguing that fact, it IS all those things but it is also a lot of other things that will pass us by if we don’t choose to look. Whether we like it or not is not the issue, our time here is limited and how we choose to spend it and look at it is our choice and no one else’s. I am not trying to sound inspirational or grand, I write this completely as a journal entry to myself to remind myself that life is worth the effort to do what’s right, reach for what you have inside your heart and work towards deep and meaningful relationships with those around you.
It’s funny because I don’t even know what to ask now for this week’s Book of Questions, let’s see:
——————————————————————————————-
What’s your favorite color?
——————————————————————————————-
My answer: Red
I promise to live today as fully as I possibly can and I wish the same for you
remember, keep it simple, it’s all in the simple things, no one knows any special
secrets to happy living, we learned all the rules in Kindergarten.
much full love

Are you good at making decisions?…
On July 27, 2008 in Thoughts in the evening...
Sunday continues along in peace and tranquility. I am off to see my folks tonight and catch up on the latest Argentine soccer scores & updates as my dad will have them ready to go by the time I get there
His favorite team has had a rough couple of years and hasn’t brought him too many jovial moments so we’ll chat about what could be done to remedy the situation and then we’ll call them up and see if they’ll listen to us. I think it might work. lol!
I haven’t seen my niece and nephew in a few weeks and I miss them. I won’t lie, I am not typically a ‘kid’ type of person, but over the years, between my own niece and nephew and various friends of mine that have kids, I have changed quite a bit and really enjoy seeing them and love them dearly. Now it’s not like I want to work in a daycare, but I have grown nonetheless
So tonight is a simple but loaded question for a lot of people: Are you good at making decisions?
I readily admit that I used to be atrocious at making decisions. I used to secretly believe that if I ignored something long enough, it would magically resolve itself. Imagine how disappointed I was to find out that not only was that not true, but that it would only make the decision that much more difficult as time passed. Darn it! Anyhoo, I am happy to say that although my decision making is yet to be 20/20, I have come leaps and strides in my ability to make decisions quicker. Granted I make more mistakes but I prefer that than the weight of taking too long to make the choices in the first place.
here’s to an awesome night and an even better beginning to this upcoming week
much decisive love

Peaceful Sunday…
On July 27, 2008 in Peaceful Sunday
Good Sunday morning. The sun is as bright as can be here in NYC and I am having a tough time getting out of bed this morning. A perfect lazy Sunday. But I must get up and get my day cooking and head off to play at church. I am running low on time so I will make this entry quick and sweet.
This morning I am sharing a fun performance of “Hush Little Baby” by quite the interesting quartet. On Violin: Mark O’connor, Bass: Edgar Meyer, Cello: Yo-Yo Ma & on vocals the one and only Bobby McFerrin. I always liked to see Yo-Yo Ma and McFerring performing together but this is the first time I saw them team up with Meyer and O’connor so I thought this would be fun to share on this morning with you. It’s nice to see such a simple melody performed by some of the most technically able musicians in the world, an interesting combination.
Well, I hope you enjoy it and get to start your morning off quietly and with some peace and tranquility.
much love and I will see you all tonight
