Do you like watching scary movies?….

On October 31, 2008 in Thoughts in the evening...

Good spooky evening to all. It’s a perfect Friday night here in NYC and the weather could not be any sweeter. I don’t know exactly what the temperature is but I can tell you that if every night were like this, I would be a happy man. Well, I am a happy man regardless, but beautiful weather does make it easier to enjoy the day :)

I am excited about tomorrow because I am going with my niece and nephew to Sesame Place. I haven’t spent an entire day with them in too long and it was time we hung out and acted silly together. I am always up for being silly and they are at the perfect silly age so it’s a beautiful match. lol! I will be sure to take my camera and share some fun moments with everyone.

So tonight I ask an appropriate question for the season: Do you like watching scary movies? I myself don’t. The complete answer is that I like watching suspenseful movies and psychological thrillers, but when it comes to plain out horror movies, like the Saw movies, I’m out. I don’t find that type of movie enjoyable in any way, shape or form. Give me What Lies Beneath, The Others, or The Sixth Sense anyday.

hope you have a great night and enjoy wherever you find yourself as you read these words

“Why doesn’t she believe we are just dressed up as moose for Halloween…Lets try the next house for candy” by Cindy

On October 31, 2008 in Add your caption Friday

Happy Friday my friends! I could feel the chill in the air and I could see the bright blue sky…yup, it’s another beautiful Autumn morning. Got a gerat amount of sleep and now I am just relaxing for a bit before I head out the door and get this day started. Should be a quiet day in the ways of work and then it’s handing out candy to the trick or treaters that come into our shop after school. It’s cute because it’s a barrage of pirates, princess’ and Spider Man costumes :)

I want to congratulate last week’s caption winner Kristi on her winning caption: “aaaAHHHCHOO! Oh, my bad.. let me get that for ya.” Here is another freshity fresh picture that needs a whimsical title.

I hope you have a beautiful day today and I will see you all tonight
much love

Do you have a nickname?…

On October 30, 2008 in Thoughts in the evening...

Top of the evening to ya. A very quiet Thursday night here in NYC, at least for me that is. I am sure there is plenty of craziness going on in NYC that I am not aware of. But for me, it’s a quiet night and I am totally fine with that :)

It’s been a good week and I am feeling quite inspired. Not particularly in a musical sense but just in general. I have had one of those weeks where you just sit back and observe all the great things that you have in life, ya know? For all the days that seem to fly by, these have been a few days of slow paced living. Same activities: work, music, friends, eat, sleep, etc. but they felt different, fuller and I appreciated the little things a whole lot more. If it’s one thing my dad kept drilling into my head all the time, it was the lesson of enjoying what you are doing. He would always tell me that it’s a good thing to dream big but make it a point to start enjoying the first stages of the dream now, that way you have already won right from the start. Wise words and I ahve taken them to heart. The road to your dream and goals IS the adventure and if you enjoy the first steps, it’s going to be a damn good ride!

Instead of a picture tonight, I wanted to share another video from the late Randy Pausch. I’m sure most of you have heard of him, but in case you haven’t check out his story here. Or even better watch some of his lectures online, I assure they are life changing if you let them be. He has inspired me a great deal and he is just one more voice to remind me about what’s important in this life.

So my question is a little bit silly but I think it seperates friends from acquaintances in a way: Do you have a nickname? Mine is “Age.” My sisters and friends have called me that ever since I was a little kid. It’s essentially the first syllable of my name and it just kind of stuck. My grandfather and grandmother would call me “Pirulito” and I loved that nickname a lot too.

have a superb evening everyone
much love

I know money doesn’t bring you happiness but…holy moly!…

On October 30, 2008 in Daily Musing

I don’t even think I’ve ever even held a gold coin in my hand. That’s a lot a’gold, wow! It must have been pretty thrilling to go on the hunt for gold back in the California Gold Rush days. You had to have some guts to pick up and leave everything to go off and search for treasure like that!

Hope your mornign is starting off well. I am actually having a great morning and beacuse it’s so great, I wish I didn’t have to go to work. Not to be lazy or anything, but more to take advantage of such a beautiful day. The sun is back after a brief hiatus and the sky is as blue as can be. But I do have to get my butt out of here and head off to work so I will bid everyone a great day and I promise to also make it a great day.

much love

Are you an Elvis fan?…

On October 29, 2008 in Thoughts in the evening...

Good evening to everyone. It is about 9:10pm on this wonderful Wednesday evening and I am feeling aokay. I just go back from hanging out at Radio Shack for the past two hours with my friend Rich. He bought a phone and it wasn’t working and he actually had gone back to replace it and it still wasn’t working so this was attempt three. I am not a big Radio Shack fan to begin with but it turned out to be a fun time nonetheless because the employees and manager were taking this phone problem personally and had Virgin Mobile on the line scared in their boots. lol! We quickly became friends with them and wound up watching Clean House on the 5 big screens that they had there and enjoyed quite a few laughs. Luckily, after all the yelling, hootin’ and hollering, it got taken care of, or so we think :)

Although it would have been great if the phone worked out the first time, I actually don’t mind those situations that extend a little beyond what we had planned. Usually, interesting moments tend to occur in the spaces in life that we hadn’t planned on. Sure we were there longer than expected, but now we have a fun story to tell and got to chat with some new people. It’s sort of like a long plane ride where you get to know some of the other passengers, I like those moments, and you usually only appreciate them after they happened, it’s pretty neat.

Anyhoo, that’s my Radio Shack story for the day, you can never have too many :) Tonight’s question came to me after I posted the Elvis pic for this morning’s blog: Are you an Elvis fan? I really wasn’t an Elvis fan growing up or anything like that but then about 2 years ago, my bass player at the time, Jose, introduced me to a whoel slew of Elvis tunes and videos and I have to say I was floored and realized instantly that I was going to like getting to know this man’s music and life. And so I stand today an Elvis fan. I won’t win any Elvis trivia contests, but I am definitely a fan of this legend.

hope you’re having a perfect evening filled with good times and new moments
much blue suede love

Awwww, Elvis was always about the children…

On October 29, 2008 in Daily Musing

I have to remember this technique when signing autographs. Children’s height is perfect for using as a table. lol!

I am running late this morning so I am keeping it brief. Have a fanstastic day, remember to laugh at something, do something for someone that doesn’t expect it and we’ll meet back here tonight and tell of our adventures :) By the way, make sure that thing you do for someone is something nice! Not the time for revenge of past grievances. lol!

much peaceful love

How many languages do you speak?…

On October 28, 2008 in Thoughts in the evening...

Bonne soiree. Buenas tardes. Maan ngon. Dobry vyecher. Konba wa!

And las but not least, good evening to everyone. I am having a dandy ol’ night here. It’s been raining non-stop all day and it’s awesome. There is no better word for it. I am talking crackling thunder, flashes of lightning and wind zipping in and out of everywhere, utter perfection :)

I am also having fun tonight because I got my hands on a projector to connect to my laptop so I can now watch movies theatre style anytime! It’s so darn cool. I had bought this projector with a friend of mine last year and I had planned on using it for my live shows and didn’t wind up using it after all. Since he hasn’t been using it lately, I brought it home, hooked it up and voila!, it’s movie time. So much fun, I feel like a little kid ;)

So tonight’s question is a simple and fun one:  How many languages do you speak? I myself speak three languages. English, Spanish and Italian. Italian is by far my weakest one but I can hold a decent conversation so I count it. As long as the topic doesn’t get into anything to technical or metaphysical, I’m okay. lol! I used to be able to speak portuguese way back but I have lost most of it. My ex-girlfriend was Brazilian and we spoke nothing but portuguese after a few months but after we broke up, I didn’t use it much so I am beyond rusty. One day I’ll get it back, it’s such a beautiful language.

have a tremendous night my friends and I’ll see you in the morning
mucho amor

Get that camera out of my face or I will kill you….

On October 28, 2008 in Daily Musing

She does not look like she’s having a good morning. Mental note: always drink water if you’re a woman and wearing white clothes. It doesn’t stain. lol!

Good very rainy morning to all. Boy oh boy do we have a thunderstorm here in NYC today and I am absolutely loving it. Today is the perfect day to stay in, eat like a pig and watch 3 movies, but alas the work day awaits. Had a nice early morning today and I am feeling excellent.

Kept editing the “Always on My Mind” video and it’s freakin’ awesome! Remember, Sunday Novermber 2nd at 8pm is the premiere of the video.

have a kick ass morning.
much rainy love

Does growing older bother you?…

On October 27, 2008 in Thoughts in the evening...

Good Monday evening, nay, great Monday evening should I say. Let me just start out by saying that I am exhausted. It was such a long day at work, but a really good work day. We got so much done and learned a few new techniques today for applying vehicle graphics and they came out great. I like learning new things, always have and my day is better if I feel I have learned something new. So the way a teacher would praise good homework, i give today a gold star :)

The second bit of great news is that the video for “Always on My Mind” is finished!!! WE DID IT!!!! I can’t even begin to thank everyone that sent in a clip but I will tell you that you are going to love love love the way it’s going to look. I am in the process of editing all the clips together and I can’t help but smile from ear to ear everytime I watch it! I will be premiering it on Sunday, November 2nd, at 8:00pm so be sure to check it out. I really have a good feeling about this project and I believe that it will make it’s way around the internet world and back, can’t wait!!! Even though I say it often, it’s never enough, you are awesome and I have simply the best fans/friends ever and I mean it from the bottom of my heart.

Okay, didn’t mean to get so mushy but you guys are great and I am grateful for that. So onto tonight’s question which could be a doozy for some people:  Does growing older bother you? I can safely say that I don’t mind growing older. I find that I am in the best times of my life in ever aspect of my life. I feel most comfortable in my skin now than i ever have. I am not one to wish I was 18 again. I will not lie, it would be great to retain the energy and vigor of a youngster for ever but knowing that growing older is a part of life that we can’t change, I am not one to dwell on it too often.

hope you have a stunning night and we’ll chat more in the morning, I am going to relax for a bit :)
much eternal love

His career as a Head Taxi didn’t last very long…

On October 27, 2008 in Daily Musing

He started having trouble when families of 5 or more needed a ride. lol!

Lundi is here once again. I must day that today doesn’t feel too Mondayee for me. Yes, that is a new word, just go with it :)
I did make it a point to have a good night’s sleep last night. Usually what I do since Monday is coming is try to get in a million things the night before and stay up obscenely late and then I am exhausted in the morning on top of it being Monday. But today I feel well rested, my mind is alert and my spirits are high. I’ll tell you tonight how the rest of the day went!

have a great morning everyone
much love
