Songwriting with the best view imagineable…
On March 31, 2009 in Daily Musing
I would say good morning but it is far from morning here. It is actually 4:52pm and I have been enjoying the privilege of songwriting with the inspiration of one of the best views I have ever seen. It’s been a rainy day since the early part of the morning but I have no complaints about that at all. Windows are open and the nicest breeze rolls in and fills the house while I play a little bit of music.
We have rehearsal tonight and I am excited about it because there will be an actual piano in the rehearsal room and it’s always a treat to play on a real piano when it’s availiable and most importantly, when it’s in tune. lol! Sadly, piano’s being in tune are not all that common but I am hoping for the best. I have been taking a lot of pictures lately and with the pictures I will take tonight at the rehearsal, I promise to post them on rhenworld.com tomorrow for you to look at and see what I’m seeing.
Hope you’re day has been a good one thus far and I will see you tomorrow with some more news and updates
much love

While the church bells ring…
On March 30, 2009 in Daily Musing
Good afternoon sweet friends. THe time is 5:36pm and I sit with my laptop in a beautiful piazza in a small town called Empoli. We just had some of the most delicious pizza I’ve ever had, then some coffee and now we came to enjoy some time outside.
Just a few minutes ago, church bells were ringing and it only added to the charm of this local hangout spot. People zip by on their scooters, bikes and small cars and there are plenty of folks just relaxing around the square soaking up the afternoon sunlight. It’s a beautiful sight and although there is a lot of movement all around me, it still feels very peaceful as if everyone is enjoying their time and not in a particular hurry to get anywhere. There’s a different pace here and although I don’t know if it’s somewhere that I could live for the rest of my life, I find it interesting to find a nice balance between the constant rush of NYC life and the slower pace of a town like this. In the end, I am just grateful for the possibility of experiencing different cultures and ways of life. There is always something interesting to learn from the way other people live and something that we can take with us even after we have left a particular place.
The church bells ring once again as I write these lines and with that I bid a goodbye for today. I posted a pic of the church below so you can get a better feel of what I’m seeing.
Have a wonderful day wherever you are as you read these lines and thank you for stopping by to spend some time with me on this wonderful journey, it’s a pleasure to share it with you ![]()

From a rainy countryside morning…
On March 29, 2009 in Daily Musing
Well, it’s a very early morning for most of you but creeping into the afternoon for me right now. I awoke this morning to the most wonderful rain imaginable because there is no wind so everything looks completely still but you can see the rain move the tree leaves ever so slightly. It’s a beautiful sight and I am very much enjoying the combination of a very quiet and serene morning with a view of olive trees and a villa on the mountain mixed in with the comfort of being able to connect with all of you. Not bad at all, I think I like this
We went last night to a few different venues to check out for possible shows and it went really well. There was only one place that we left about 2 minutes after getting there. It was called Cherry Lips and as unattractive as the name sounds, so was this place. It did not give off a good vibe at all so we booked it right out of there before we could talk to anyone about booking. But we did make it to a few good places and managed to speak to some owners that seem to present live music as a serious part of their establishment so it should turn out some good prospects. Tonight we’re going to Florence where I’m told that there are more possibilities for live music there so we’ll see what happens.
Then of course we went out to eat some food at the nicest bar/restaurant & had a great time, ate a little bit too much but don’t regret it at all
I will wait for this rain to clear and then go for a nice run on one of the trails alongside the vineyards. Very peaceful & there’s a lot of hills so it’s a great workout too.
Have a beautiful morning for those reading this in the morning and if it’s later in the day for you, enjoy that time as well. I am happy to be back in contact with everyone and I continually thank you all for your love, support & continued encouragement to follow my music, dreams and love in this life, it is appreciated beyond words.
much rainy love

We have a connection!…
On March 28, 2009 in Daily Musing
Yes, it’s absolutely and beautifully true, we have an internet connection in our place here. It’s a bit sluggish but I will certainly not complain because I am just happy to be online and with the ability to keep everyone updated with what’s going on, on a daily basis. It’s 5:20pm right now with a very cloudy sky so the sun is nowhere to be seen.
The smell of home cookin’ is in the air and I am ready to eat eat eat. I would say that it’s only because I am in Italy that I am eating so much, but the reality is that I eat all the time, even back home. lol! It’s been a very fun first week and although it hasn’t even been a full week just yet, I feel like a lot has gotten done and I have entered into a nice daily routine of music, productivity and a nice pace of life.
Last night we went to a place called The Alchemist to see a live band and try to book a possible show and the organizer said there was a good chance they would be able to book is for a night since we were traveling from the US. Their schedule was already booked for the Spring but it would be nice to play there because the people were very cool and the sound system was quite good. We heard a very good funk band and had a great time and of course ate the most delicious food and then topped it off with a Cappuccino and a Crepe alla Nutella. If I had it my way, I would eat Nutella every day but I know that’s not a good idea
Anyhoo, I just wanted to say hello and share the good news that I’ll be in contact daily now as long as the signal stays strong. The pic below is from last night at The Alchemist. I’ll be posting more pics soon.
much love

From the beautiful rolling hills of Italy!…
On March 26, 2009 in Daily Musing
Like a castaway who has found populated land, I sit here in childish happiness that I have found a connection to everyone through the waves of this online ocean
We are in a small town called Capra which is absoulely stunning but is hard to get an online connection. But we have come to Empoli, a small city nearby and seated ourselves in a charming little cafe and whilst enjoying some delicious cappucinos and chocolate treats, I am lucky enough to be able to share a little part of my experience so far with you. The flight went without a hitch and I arrived only 20 minutes from the schedule arrival time and was greeted there by familiar faces and great memories to reminisce about.
I couldn’t believe it, I had arrived and was ready to begin enoying the adventure. Truth be told, I start having fun at the airport. I have always marveled at the fact that we can fly and zip from place to place across this globe and every time I get to do it, I am grateful beyond words. My allergies kicked up a bit the last few days so I ahve been resting up and taking solme medication but today I feel great and was able to walk around the city quite a bit and have a delicious Italian lunch and now head on out to this cafe.
We started rehearsing last night and working out some tunes and will have a small video to share with everyone by the weekend with a song and some footage of the city we’re in. Gigs should start in a couple of weeks in the surrounding cities, I can’t wait. I feel good, privileged and trying to enjoy each moment as it comes. Sometimes it feels that everything is a bit of a dream and I wonder if it’s really happening, ya know? But then I realize it is in fact, happening and I let myself enjoy my surroundings. I have gotten together a little slide show of pics throughout the week and posted it on rhenworld.com Click here to view it.
I will hopefully have access to the internet on a daily basis starting tomorrow so my contact with everyone will be a lot more consistent.
Have an absolutely wonderful morning or evening depending on when you will be reading this. Thank you for all of your wonderful and loving messages and I promise to keep you up to date with things as they unfold.
much buon giorno love

Don’t mess with me, it’s been a bad morning!…
On March 23, 2009 in Daily Musing
This kid clearly is not having a good day and should not be messed with. lol!
Good Monday morning sweet friends. I know I have been away for a few days but it’s been quite a hectic time trying to get ready for my trip to Italy and the day has finally arrived. I travel tonight at 7pm and I can’t wait. My day is still going to be quite busy making sure last minute details are taken care of but I know as soon as I sit on that plane, I will feel better, relaxed and ready to begin my new adventure.
I am taking my camera with me so I will be posting pictures often of my trip and sharing it with all of you and keep you up to date with all the Rhen developments. Please keep me in your prayers and I will write in as soon as I can.
have a most beautiful start to this week
much “I’m going on a plane” love

Do you think you’re an adventurous person?…
On March 20, 2009 in Thoughts in the evening...
Good evening to everyone. Today has been quite a productive day and although my personality is one that never thinks enough is done, I must step back for a second and realize that a lot did get done in fact. My throat is feeling bit soar but luckily I don’t feel the aches or pains of getting sick so hopefully it’s nothing serious.
The days are closing in on my departure to Italy and I was aked yesterday if I was excited and although I am definitely excited, I am so concentrated on making sure I leave everything here up and running that I am sure it will only be once I am sitting on the plane that I will actually feel that I am on my way. I love to fly so I know the flight itself will already propel me into a frenzy of excitement, looking forward to it.
Lots happening lately in Rhen-land and I am happy to announce that there quite an amount of interest from booking agents, distribution and publishing companies. I really feel like things are picking up and moving to the next level. The radio campaign for “Simple Man” is under way and will determine a lot of our next moves, dependent on it’s success so don’t forget to call and write the stations on our list, it is helping immensely, more than you know. Click here for the list of radio stations.
Tonight’s question is simple enough:
———————————————
Do you think you’re an adventurous person?
———————————————
This is a tough question because I believe we all we want to feel that we’re adventurous in one way or another. I feel like I am adventurous when it comes to taking chances in regards to following your dreams and putting it all on the line. As far as being adventurous in terms of death-defying stunts, not so much. lol! But I will always join the adventure to live life a little fuller and find new special moments in a given day.
hope you are having a fantasmic evening so far and that some form of adventure awaits just around the corner
much adventurous love

“Hey, turn around; here’s your pot of gold.” by Meredith
On March 20, 2009 in Add your caption Friday
Friday, the most anticipated day of the week I would assume. Let me tell you something ridiculous about this NYC Friday…it snowed this morning!! Yes, you read right, it snowed, on the first day of spring no less. That is an insult to calendars everywhere and something should be done about it!
Enough of that or I’m going to get really mad
I want to congratulate Laarni on winning last week’s caption contest with her caption, “Well, if you think it can’t get any worse, GUESS where I put the ladder!!!” Congrats Laarni!!! Here is a brand new, very silly picture to have some fun with.
Hope everyone’s day is chuggin’ along nicely and that you’re happy that it’s Friday.
much love

10 Items or Less: Things you’d like to try or experience at least once…
On March 19, 2009 in Thoughts in the evening...
My brain is on overdrive and I really need to bring it down a notch. Nothing bad at all, quite the contrary but I’ve been moving moving moving getting things done and I need to just sit down for a bit and take a breather
One point of inspiration that I did have was that I watched a fantastic documentary called “Man On Wire.” It’s about a tightrope walker by the name of Phillippe Petite and it was just so captivating and inspiring. I’m sure many of you have heard of the movie and if you haven’t I do recommend it. It’s not a typical film by any means but if individuals following their dreams are a source of inspiration for you, this might be a movie you might enjoy. I see in him a lot of me and notice a willingness to make the effort to make ordinary days seem and feel a bit larger than life. I have always felt that it’s always worth the extra energy spent to take a day from ordinary to extraordinary. Always, always…..always
So tonight I thought I’d ask a fun question about what we see in our futures at least once:
————————————————————
10 Items or Less: Things you’d like to try or experience at least once…
————————————————————
My list:
1. A long trip on a traditional steam railroad with sleeper car & dining car.
2. Witness the Aurora Borealis
3. Fly a plane
4. Run a full marathon
5. Writing a book
6. Play a soccer game inside a stadium
7. Go sailing
8. Host Saturday Night Live
9. Make fire(just to say I’ve done it once!)
10. Snorkeling
Have a beautiful night full of great moments and remember to go the extra mile to make your life one for the books
much highwire love

Back by popular demand, the McBaby returns!…
On March 19, 2009 in Daily Musing
I can’t believe this sandwich worked after so many tragically failed like the McVeggie and the McRib. lol!
Good morning sweet friends. How has your day been going so far? It’s a gray one here in NYC and it sure would be nice to see some rain today. Nothing beats a good rain storm. Very hypnotic and peaceful, I love it. Got a lot to do today. Lots to sort out and figure out how best to approach the upcoming decisions I need to make for Rhen. It’s one of those things that you just want to know that you’re investing your time as wisely as possible to be productive, ya know?
So, with that said I am off to it. Have a beautiful day and I’ll see ya tonight
much love
