Do you like baseball?…
On June 30, 2009 in Thoughts in the evening...
The rain has once again decided to join us for another NYC evening. It’s still quite humid but the rain has managed to cool off an otherwise very hot day. Either way, it’s fine with me because we had sunshine all day and then some rain in the evening. Not bad at all, I’m liking this.
The was busy but with good things and I await my last student before I head out to see a baseball game tonight. I called to see if the game had been rained out but they assured me that the game was still very much going to happen so off I go. Even if the game isn’t played, it’s in Coney Island so I am sure I will find plenty of unhealthy snacks to eat and still enjoy the night on the boardwalk.
With all of that said, I ask the simple question:
——————————–
Do you like baseball?
——————————–
I know this is going to sound strange, but I actually do not like the game at all. What I do like is going to a stadium and just be a part of an event, even if it’s not my particular cup of tea. You can have fun just about anywhere and it’s going to be fun nonetheless. I don’t know why I never grew into the game. I played it growing up with my friends and collected the cards and all that but at the end of the day, it just didn’t do anything for me. I never understood the term ‘World’ Series since only two countries participate, a bit strange indeed
anyhoo have a most incredible night, I’ll off to tonight’s game and I will enjoy it, I promise you that!

Now that is one surprised house!…
On June 30, 2009 in Daily Musing
Nope, not a surprising house but a surprised house! lol! I was smiling big when I saw this
Good almost over morning everyone. I just finished teaching some lessons and I am ready to get the day cookin’ and moving. It’s a very sunny day here today in NYC and I am feeling quite good. Listening to some salsa to get the blood pumping & I’m feeling that today is one of those days that need to be enjoyed outside. It’s absolutely too beautiful to not be outside. Tonight will interesting because I am going to a minor league baseball game to watch the Cyclones play in Coney Island. When I donated blood a few weeks ago, they sent the tickets as a thank you. Now bear in mind that I dislike baseball very much. Yes, I said it and I don’t care who knows. I do not like the sport at all, but I am a sucker for being in a stadium and going to a big event so I will go and eat some sloppy food and then go for a walk on the boardwalk after the game. There’s always fun to be had anywhere and everywhere, even if it’s not your specific cup of tea. Then on Friday’s they have fireworks in Coney Island and I can’t wait to go to that. Lot’s of fun little things sprinkled here and there to be grateful for.
Hope you have a beautiful day and I’ll see you tonight so we can share a fun question and get to know each other a little bit better ![]()

Have you ever had fried ice-cream?…
On June 29, 2009 in Thoughts in the evening...
What is there to say about today? The time is 7:04, the sun is making it’s way slowly towards the horizon and although many clouds flood the sky, the sunlight is shining through as warm and bright as ever. It has been a good day. A ‘normal’ day if you will. I have always been intrigued at people’s view of their ‘normal’ day and why it has received such negative connotations over the years. Usually the ‘normal’ day is associated with boredom, dull routines and an overall lack of excitement when compared to other, more exciting experiences in life. I do believe there is a way to actually find some level of excitement in these otherwhise mundane activities and I have certainly met others that feel the same way. It’s not always easy, that’s for sure, but whether you’re going to the bank, post office or just going to get some lunch, these small almost daily moments in life can actually provide some interesting times to remember. Even if you simply do some ‘people watching’ at these places, you will be infintely entertained and I guarantee you will have some very funny stories to share after the fact
Anyhoo, that’s my thoughts on that today. I had a small gig tonight but it was cancelled so I am off to hang out with my family at my folks house and I’l looking forward to seeing my niece and nephew as well. I know everyone says this but it’s the truth when it comes to kids, ‘they grow up so fast!” It’s like everytime I see them they grew by exponential amounts. It’s crazy to watch kids grow up and it amazes me to think that at one point in time, we were all that size and age. Time is a strange thing and luckily, it does not discriminate and we all must deal with it in the same way. I have a good relationship with time and have never feared getting older. I find that my years get better and better and I look forward to the future as an even better time rather than thinking I have already lived my best years.
So with all this reflective thinking, I want to ask something completely silly:
—————————————-
Have you ever had fried ice-cream?
—————————————-
A resounding yes, yes, yes. Many times and if I ever convinced myself that it’s actually healthy for me, I would eat it any chance I got!
hope you have an amazing night and I will try to do the same.
here’s to better living each and every day, our best time is still to come ![]()

Always give 100% to your work ;)…
On June 29, 2009 in Daily Musing
Now these are the type of odds and percentages that I think make a lot of sense. So here we are, on another 12% Monday!
Good sunny morning to all. I am still feeling a bit lethargic as I start this day but it is the result of having had a very good night’s sleep so I am not complaining in the least. Last night was fun and since the night’s weather was such a perfect summer night, I was happy to be out and walking around downtown Brooklyn. After my set last night, my friend and I went to see the new Francis Ford Coppolafilm Tetro. I can’t say I particularly loved it but what I did love about it was that a lot of it was filmed in Buenos Aires and it was fun to recognize many of the places where they filmed. It was mostly done in black and white so it had a certain charm to it that made you want to keep watching. The storyline didn’t blow me away, but hey, they can’t all be winners.
I am off to start this day. Hope you have a wonderful rest of morning and that this is that start of a great week for you.
much 12% love

Are you an old fashioned type of person?…
On June 27, 2009 in Thoughts in the evening...
Good almost evening to all. The sun has been shining all day and it has made me one happy camper, let me tell you! THe time is 7:13pm and it has been a great day of good friends, good conversation and a little sunbathing. Not too much, but just a little to add a little color to my face. I am about to go for a walk and head down to Barnes & Noble to pick up a book or two and then walk around the neighborhood for a while. It’s definitely a walking night. Temperature is perfect and I have a hunch that the night is going to be a beautiful one.
So tonight’s question comes from something that’s on my mind a lot and something I rather enjoying talking to people about and the question is to be interpreted in any way you would like so have fun with it:
—————————————————-
Are you an old fashioned type of person?
—————————————————-
I myself feel like I am an old fashioned type of guy. Ever since I can remember, I have always enjoyed stories, books, movies and traditions that point to a time where there was a high level of chivalry, where men aimed at remaining gentlemen at all times. I’ve always been drawn to this style of living and I have been fortunate to not only be surrounded by a fair amount of people that think the same way but also have good male friends that also think this way. Now I am not naive in thinking that these times were void of their own troubles, scandals and so forth, but certain traditions always made sense to me & I try to live by them even in these modern times. I may be looked at as a little odd and out of sorts by some, but so what, in the end you just have to try to be as true to what you feel is right for you and that’s all that matters. That’s what makes a lot of this crazy ride of life make sense. I will see everyone at the ball tonight
I am off to the bookstore and also to walk around imagining what the neighborhood would have been like at the turn of the century. Have a most wonderful evening and I promise that if I see you walking down the street, I will most certainly tip my hat and say hello.
much old fashioned love

If you run out of guns, pull out the slingshots!…
On June 27, 2009 in Daily Musing
I guess it proves the saying, All is Fair in Love and War. lol!
Good sunny morning sweet friends. Finally, the sun has decided to grace us with it’s presence for more than five minutes here in NYC, I can’t believe it! Let there be no mistake, I am forevert grateful for this sunshine and I plan on taking full advantage of all it has to offer.
Last night’s gig went really well and I was very pleased with the response to the new songs that I have been performing. It’s easy to get used to new material but all that changes once you’re actually out in front of an audience and that’s where, in my opinion, you get to see if the song is really working and if you’re happy with it. Luckily, I felt very strong about all of the new material and am looking forward to adding these songs to the full set with the band.
I didn’t want the night to end so my friend and I grabbed some good ol’ fashioned junk food, then some more junk food and then we went to see ‘The Hangover’ at the late showing. We were right near Times Square after the show so we headed straight to 42nd and went to the theatres there. There were so many people, it was unbelievable, it felt like New Years Eve. And even we got out of the movie at 1:00am, there were still just as many people in the street. That’s New York for ya!
well, I am off to see what this sunny day has in store. Probably a little soccer and definitely a little beach time at the very least. have a wonderful day and I’ll try to stop in tonight to see what’s up.
much slingshot love

A small tribute to Michael Jackson…
On June 26, 2009 in Daily Musing
Like everyone else, I was in shock when I heard the news of Michael Jackson’s passing yesterday. I have been a fan ever since I can remember and I have enjoyed most of his music throughout the years and always admired his desire to take his art to a completely new level. It couldn’t have been easy growing up in the spotlight from such a young age and remaining there for so many years to come. Lots of pressure to deal with and as an artist, he delivered time and time again, great work.
There is so much written on the music and life of this man that it would be rather presumptuous of me to try and do that here, so I will just pay my respects, and share one of my favorite performances of his from the MTV Music Awards in 1995.
Prayers go out to all his family and friends.

I don’t think that’s going to distract him too much!…
On June 25, 2009 in Daily Musing
A valiant effort but for some reason, I don’t think it’s really going to be that effective. lol!
Good late morning to all. The sun is teasing here and there of actually coming out and I really hope it hangs around for a while. A sunny day would be a good thing and would give me a chance to head out to the beach for a bit and run on the boardwalk and soak in a little sunshine. We’ll see what happens. It’s been a quiet morning so far and there are a lot of little things to take care of but luckily nothing too stressful so it should prove to be quite a good day.
Hope everyone also has a beautiful day and I will see you all tonight with a fun quetsion to share so we can all get to know each other a little better ![]()

C’mon, you know you’ve always wanted to do this!…
On June 24, 2009 in Daily Musing
Whenever my dad would ask us to help repaint any room in the house, my sister and I made it a point to, at some point take the roller and paint each other. It started off as an innocent enough prank and then paint was flying to parts of the room that didn’t need painting. But we sure had fun
Good morning sweet friends. It is a wonderful morning here in NYC. It could be a little sunnier for my taste but the temperature is perfect so I am far from complaining. I was so happy that so many of you enjoyed the new song I posted last night and we will have an actual studio recording of that song, ‘Sonrisa Mia’, very soon for you to have on your IPOD, blast from your car or sing at the next karaoke party you attend. lol!
I have a busy, yet not too stressful day ahead of me and I am going to get started so I will wish everyone a great morning.
much paint loving fun

What other time would you have liked to live in?…
On June 23, 2009 in Thoughts in the evening...
Good evening to everyone. I don’t what it is about today but I am feeling quite inspired and hopeful about anything and everything. Believe me, I am not questioning any of it but just enjoying the ride as much as possible and soaking it all in. It’s about 8:30 right now and the sky is absolutely incredible. Thick lush clouds, perfect breeze and I almost feel like I am in the country. It must be a good day if not even the business of the city is getting to me
Wrote a new song today and I am very happy with the direction it’s taking and although it’s not the song I featured in the video below, I am sharing a new song I wrote while I was in Italy called Sonrisa Mia which is another song I am extremely proud of and excited to play with the band.
Tonight’s question comes straight from me taking a few daydream trips imagining what it would have been like to grow up in a different time. I know every generation has their share of problems but it’s fun to imagine and tlak about:
———————————————————
What other time would you have liked to live in?
———————————————————
I would probably have still stayed in the 20th century myself. I used to think it would have been 19th century Paris because of all the music but I have since changed my mind. Now I think I would have liked to live either in the 20’s or 50’s. So much happening, so much about to happen as well and it seems like they were decades with a lot of everything including a lot of hope and development without over saturation. Sometimes I feel the time we live in now is so laden with so much, we really don’t have the opportunity to soak much of it in. Too many choices, all the time.
Can’t wait to read your answers. The video might take a few minutes to process so just give it a sec and it will pop up.
have an amazingly inspired night and I will do the same
much time traveling love
