What’s one trait you’re trying to correct about yourself?…

On November 23, 2009 in Thoughts in the evening...

Good evening to all. It’s a very chilly NYC night and luckily the wind is quite calm so the cold temperature is not being over stated.

It’s been a quiet yet very productive day here at Adrian Edward headquarters. I am happy to announce that AdrianEdward.com is finally up and running! Yes, it’s true. It’s only the beginning stages of the site and there is still much to set up and perfect but it was a challenge just to get the darn thing up and running since there is so much behind the scenes action going on. It may not look it but there are a lot of moving parts that you can’t see and fortunately all the hard labor is done with and now it’s just about making it look pretty and being as functional as possible. Over the next few days and weeks I will be adding to the site but I will also have a feedback section giving you all an opportunity to help make it better. In the end, the site is for all of us and I want us all to enjoy it as much as possible. Thanks for your patience and support throughout this process and I can’t wait for it to have all the bells and whistles imaginable :) It’s not officially launched but will be soon.

So tonight I ask an oldie but a goodie:
——————————————————————-
What’s one trait you’re trying to correct about yourself?
——————————————————————-
My answer:
Well, in truth, the list would be too large for this post so I am glad we are limiting it to just one! lol! Seriously though, I would have to say that I am trying to correct the fact that I have a habit of thinking I can’t do something even before trying it. Creating this new website is a good example of that. I had to learn a whole new technology that I didn’t know preciously and I kept having this feeling that I couldn’t do it. I don’t want to feel that anymore. I would certainly encourage others in making them feel like they can do anything and I want to extend that same courtesy to myself, ya know?

So anyhoo, that’s my admission and I know I will learn a lot from everyone’s answers.

have a wonderful night and I will see you in the morning
much corrective love

Now that’s living in a bubble…

On November 23, 2009 in Daily Musing

I loved this picture and though it was actually so neat. This guy is so interesting and if you want to find out more info about Samsam the ‘BubbleMan”, click here.

Monday has crept up once again into our lives swiftly and on the heels of a peaceful and quiet Sunday. I’ve set out my to-do list and I am ready to get started. Lots to do but I am excited because I almost done with the first draft of the website and I just have some final technical issues to take care of. Since I’m not used to a lot of the new techniques I’m using for the new website, the learning curve has been a bit tough but I know it will be well worth it. We’re almost there!

Have a most beautiful morning and I hope you are surprised by something wonderful today

Who said escalators are only for people?…

On November 19, 2009 in Daily Musing

I’m sure he’s going to get a ticket but I think that’s just being creative with parking, call me crazy. lol!

Thursday, oh how I’ve missed you. I like the feel Thursday’s have. So close to the weekend but still have quite a productive mood floating around. I tend to get a lot of things done on Thursdays. Its a cloudy sky in NYC this morning and as always you will not hear a complaint from my lips in regards to clouds or rain. It’s been a few weeks since we’ve seen some droplets float our way and they will most definitely be received with much adulation.

I am feeling so much better this morning, although still a little bit under the weather, but nothing compared to yesterday. Thank you so much to everyone for sending me so many get well wishes. I am always so beautifully reminded how much love I am surrounded by and it means more than you know so thank you thank you thank you.

Lots to do today but my goal is to not stress out too much. I am on the cusp of finalizing the website but there a a few key components that I am not fully understanding that are driving me a bit batty but I will spend today trying to figure those points out. I hope by the end of the day, they will be resolved and I will have good news to share in the coming days regarding a launch date. It will be worth the wait, I promise you. One section I will be setting up on the new website is a feedback section so you can help me out in making it the best it could be.

with that said, I must get my butt in gear and start working
have a most amazing day and if something out of the ordinary happens, be sure to tell me about it

Chipmunks in the fan will always stall a car!…

On November 18, 2009 in Daily Musing

I’m no mechanic but I would say that any type of animal in the motor is going to cause some engine trouble. lol!

Good cold, sunny and quiet mid-morning. As I write these first few words my body is achy, my nose is running and I’ve got the chills all over. I am definitely not complaining since I rarely get sick but today is one of those rare days. I haven’t been exactly bundling up too well for the changing of seasons and I must have caught a chill at some point. I admit that it’s probably my reluctance to come to terms with the coming of the cold weather so mother nature has now come back with her own little rebuttal to my disapproval of her wintery methods :)

But all will be well and I will most certainly bundle up today as I tread the streets of NYC. I loved reading everyone’s favorite movies and I like trhose types of questions because it gives you ideas for new movies to check out. We are rehearsing tonight with the band but I will try to stop by to say hi and ask another question so we can have some fun.

have a most beautiful day and bundle up…trust me ;)
much achoo! love

The rare unknown origins of airmail!…

On November 17, 2009 in Daily Musing

It was only a century later did they realize that it was easier to bring airmail to earthly levels and make it a bit easier for the postman. lol!

Tuesday, Tuesday, Tuesday says the calendar but in actuality, it doesn’t really feel like a Tuesday. Sunday’s have a specific feel, Fridays, Saturdays and even Wednesdays but for some reason Tuesdays never really carried much ofa feeling for me. Just another day I guess, yet, another day that could be turned into a great one. Had a nice bust morning already and it’s been one of those days to face up to some of the not so fun items on the list. I am happy to report that I purposely went head into those most undesireable items and I came out the better man for it. Now my mind can focus on the rest of the day without the weight of those things in my head. I like it!

let’s see what we can find out there on this fine Tuesday that will make it stand out among the slew of other Tuesdays. There’s something there, waiting to be found, I promise you.

much postage love

What’s one of your favorite movies?…

On November 16, 2009 in Thoughts in the evening...

It’s a quiet Monday night here in NYC. The air is chilled but not quite cold, making for a most relaxing evening.

It has been a very productive day in terms of getting stuff done and the best part is that I feel completely at ease. I tend to get worked up when I have a lot of things to do but today has been a most smooth day and one that started off well and remained such as the hours melted away. Not too shabby….not too shabby at all :)

As I returned from my trip to Mexico last night to find a pile of DVD’s my sister returned, it dawned on me to ask one of the most simple, yet common questions to our modern day city society:

—————————————————–
What’s one of your favorite movies?
—————————————————–
My answer:
I specifically asked for just one of your favorite’s since I know it’s practically impossible to limit it to just one favorite movie. For me, it would have to be Amadeus. I have plenty of others that make my favorite’s list but Amadeus ranks among the highest on the list. It is a wonderful movie and one that I fell in love with when I was first starting out playing music so it touched me in a very special way.A few othe’s that make the list are: The Notebook, Cinema Paradiso & Dead Poet’s Society. I’ll stop there because the list is going to just grow bigger and bigger.

Can’t wait to read your answers and I hope everyone is having the most amazing evening
much cinematic love

Not a good time to be a hall monitor..

On November 16, 2009 in Daily Musing

As a general rule of thumb in life, whenever I see a bear in close proximity, I stay away. Call me crazy. lol!

I hope it’s been a good Monday so far for everyone. Things are nice and peaceful around here, trotting along, going through the infamous ‘to-do’ list one item at a time. I tend to want to do three things at once and then get frustrated so I am just going through each item brick by brick until I can step away and see the wall standing tall. At least that’s my theory, we’ll see how it goes :)

I had a beautiful weekend in Mexico in the town of Tlaxcala and got to spend it with a wonderful family that took me in as their own. Lots of food, lots of warmth and the constant reminder of how important it is to create a home and not just have a house. It takes years and lots of love to generate the safety and love that a home requires but every time I get to see it up close, I am convinced time and time again that it is worth every ounce of effort and sacrifice that is needed and that nothing in this world comes close to having that. I have been blessed with a wonderful family and I want to publicly thank my mom and dad for always providing that for me and my sister’s lives.

on that note, I will wish everyone a beautiful rest of the day and hope that you find yourself in a great place reaching for great things. Focus your energy on what’s right and you’ll have a lot more energy left over to work on what could be better without the stress.

much bear love

This cat has hit the motherload!….

On November 09, 2009 in Daily Musing

I have a feeling that the cat is going to go for all of them and not get one! lol!

Good Monday afternoon to all. The week has officially begun and it’s been a semi-sunny day here in NYC with the temperature at a perfect level. Just chilly enough to need a light jacket but not cold enough to slip in through and chill your bones. This is the weather that should prevail all the time. Okay, that’s my little fantasy, I’ll admit it :)

It was a good weekend and I am looking forward to this week to get a lot of technical stuff done on this side. The website is coming along and has definitely proven to be a lot harder than I though but I know it’s going to be pay off in the end. It will be a much more dynamic site with lots more going on than the previous one. A few small but important updates to share. I have received information from my contact in Argentina that they have found a venue for an Adrian Edward show and it looks like plans are moving ahead with that which makes me very happy. I have been wanting to play a good show in my city of birth for quite some time now and it seems that things are moving in that direction. Also, I wanted to share that once the site is up and running I’m going to need help from all of you to make it run great which I’ll let you know about as the launch date approaches.

So with that, I am off to continue this lovely day and see what else is cookin’

Do you see the glass half full or half empty?…

On November 06, 2009 in Thoughts in the evening...

The night is chilly, the weekend has arrived but the most important thing about this moment is that it has the potential to become a memory that will never fade. If you asked me what I love most about life, I would no doubt be able to list quite a number of things but at the top of the list, I would have to put the simple possibility that we have the capacity to make a day special even if the cards are stacked against the natural order of things.

As I sit here sipping on a cappuccino, and a well prepared one at that, I think about all the days that get lived and forgotten. Now I’m not quite sure if it’s possible to make every single day memorable to the point of being able to recall them at any moment, but I do know that it’s worth the effort to try to make that a reality.

With that said, I ask you tonight:
————————————————
Do you see the glass half full or half empty?…
————————————————
My answer:
It’s not always an easy thing, but I try my best to see the glass half full as much as possible. Granted, there are time when it seems that there isn’t even a glass but more often than not, I try to focus on what’s there instead of lamenting what’s missing. It’s a daily choice and one that is best made early in the morning before the day get started :)

hope it’s a fun start to the weekend and that regardless of how the day started that it ends with a glass half full mood
much full love
